Dear Friends, Family & Advocates,
Thank you so much for being part of the beautiful and inspiring Candlelight Vigil at the Town Clock on November 17th. Hearing such heartfelt words from so many friends truly honored Daniel and was a source of healing for our family, as well as our community.

So many of you expressed a commitment to use your love for Daniel as fuel on our journey to change the law. And your voices have been heard! Senator Bill Monning has recently introduced Senate Bill 158, which will make California roads safer by requiring entry-level commercial drivers to complete a certified course of training prior to receiving their Commercial Driver’s License. SB 158 also mandates minimum hours of behind-the wheel training for new drivers. While many, many things went wrong on the day of Daniels’ fatal accident, I believe that if the driver in Daniel’s fatal accident had known how to properly check his brakes, downshift on a steep grade, and how to use the truck’s engine to slow him down, Daniel might still be with us.

This progress is happening because each of you took the time to sign the petition to stop dangerous big rig drivers. When I checked just now, we had more than 2,986 signatures and are in a push to deliver at least 3,500 to Senator Monning’s office before the Senate Transportation Committee hears the bill in mid to late March. With your help, we can do this!

Here’s what you can do to help get to our goal:

LIKE, SHARE & COMMENT on the Daniels Law FACEBOOK page & POST a PICTURE or VIDEO of you and Daniel. SHARE the petition page with friends. You can easily do this by clicking the “SHARE” button (bottom of page). Even if you’ve already signed the petition, going back through these simple steps will dramatically increase the number of people who become part of this growing movement.
Thanks to every one of you for your efforts. Let’s keep pushing forward!

Blessings,
the Mom
